Missing SE Texas woman found after 40 years

When the identities of Tina Gail Linn Clouse and Harold Dean Clouse Jr., a Florida couple who appeared to have been murdered in Houston in 1981, were identified, the search for their daughter, Holly, began, according to a press release from Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton. Holly’s parents were identified in 2021 using “genetic genealogy,” and now 42-year-old Holly has been found and reconnected with her extended family, the release said.
“To go from hoping to find her to suddenly meeting her less than 8 months later — how miraculous is that? All of the detectives involved… They all expressed such fortitude to get to the bottom of this case,” Holly’s uncle Les Linn said in the release.
The effort to find Holly included the assistance of Texas’ Cold Case and Missing Persons Unit, an initiative from the Attorney General’s Office which was formed in October 2021. The unit’s mission is to aid and support law enforcement agencies statewide in investigating and prosecuting unsolved cases, including homicides and missing persons, an October press release said.
“I am extremely proud of the exceptional work done by my office’s newly formed Cold Case and Missing Persons Unit,” Paxton said in the release. “My office diligently worked across state lines to uncover the mystery surrounding Holly’s disappearance.”
