— Chapters from the stories of generations of families can be found among the shelves and drawers of the newly opened Kandiyohi County Historical Society’s Genealogical Resource Library.
Now home to the Kandiyohi County Heritage Searchers, the library provides one of the best stops for budding family genealogists looking to uncover their family history in Kandiyohi County.
“This is the place to come first,” said Harold Larson.
Harold and his wife, Mary Jo, donated the funds to pay for the new library. Harold, a retired Willmar Public Schools teacher, paid for the construction of the new wing in the historical society. Mary Jo, who worked for the city of Willmar for more than 30 years, purchased the furnishings and equipment to outfit the library.
